COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Maryland guard Terrell Stoglin has entered the NBA draft after receiving a one-year suspension from the school.

Stoglin averaged 21.6 points per game as a sophomore last season, tops in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The 6-foot-1 standout started 27 of 29 games and received 42 starts over two seasons for the Terrapins.

The school announced Monday that Stoglin will be suspended due to a violation of the University of Maryland Student-Athlete Code of Conduct. According to the school, Stoglin declared for the NBA draft on Sunday.

Sophomore guard Mychal Parker also received a one-year suspension, although he previously announced his intention to transfer to another school.

Athletic director Kevin Anderson said of the suspensions: "We're disappointed, but hope they use this as a learning experience."
