uot;I think that kind of helped us get to where we were.
"That’s one thing we’re striving for here is getting that on-the-floor, off-the-floor relationship on a consistent basis. I really think that’s going to help us be a better team this year and you’ll see the progress as the season goes on. But there’s a lot of similarities, and I think if we can pull it together we can have that same kind of success they had.”
Although the Thunder finished its preseason schedule with a 1-6 record, Mason points to those exhibition games as evidence the Thunder can duplicate the Hornets’ jump.
"Outside of the Golden State game when we just didn’t play very well at all, every other game we’ve been in until that last six, seven minutes of the game,” Mason said. "And then we just start making mental errors and making mistakes. And these were a lot of road games. So that should be a good feeling.
"If we pull those things together in the regular season we can make a significant jump like that. And if we make a jump like that we have a great chance to be in the playoffs.”
