EL RENO — Ron Klepper, professor and division director of math and science, has retired after 39 years with Redlands Community College.
“The institutional wealth of historical, operational and classroom knowledge and experience carried with longterm employees like Ron Klepper are indispensable resources to institutions of higher learning,” said Jack Bryant, Redlands president. “Ron’s dedication to the institution through a variety of teaching and administrative roles over the years has only been surpassed by one element, his genuine concern for the well-being and success of his students.”
Klepper earned degrees from Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma. He taught in Bray and Yukon before going to work for Redlands.
He also served Redlands as enrollment management director and director of financial aid.
“Ron has been an incredible mentor and positive example for so many students and colleagues,” science professor Reonna Slagell Gossen said. “He has contributed to the scientific arena in so many ways and his influence will live on through the lives that he has touched and the legacy he leaves at Redlands Community College.”
Klepper said his greatest memory is seeing the campus grow, and working with talented professionals and support staff.
“Helping students achieve their educational goals and seeing each student advance onto other institutions to further their careers has been one of my greatest achievements,” he said.
Klepper said he plans to enjoy his retirement with his family while running a small farming and cattle operation near Union City.
