The Oklahoman's Oklahoma City Thunder beat writer Darnell Mayberry answered questions from readers in today's Power Lunch chat. Read the entire chat recap here. Participate in our Power Lunch chats Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. at NewsOK.com/sports On whether the Thunder can beat San Antonio or Los Angeles in a playoff series: Of course. It's not out of the question. The Thunder has gotten better, more confident and more mature. This is a dangerous team. On whether Oklahoma City will catch Dallas for the No. 3 seed in the playoffs: Dallas is at Houston tonight and then closes the season at home against the Hornets. Neither of those games are guarantees for the Mavs. All the Thunder needs is to win out while Dallas loses one. But it looks like Dallas is dialed in. I think it can happen. But I've thought for a while that the Thunder will get the Nuggets as a 4-5 matchup. On the Thunder's bench in the playoffs: Historically, role players don't play well on the road. So while the Thunder will host an opening round game, it's a stretch to think that, if OKC makes it to the second round, the role players will excel on someone else's home court. It could happen. But it generally doesn't. The bench has been brilliant, though. On the technical foul rules in the playoffs and what affect it will have on center Kendrick Perkins: Regular season techs do not carry over to the playoffs. Perk has 11. So, Thunder heads can finally breath a sigh of relief. With only two games remaining, there is no way he can reach 16, which would land him an automatic one-game suspension. In the postseason, a player is suspended after he receives his seventh technical. And, again, that count starts from scratch. So there is really nothing to worry about. On his playoff prediction for the Thunder: Second round. Game 7. Spurs or Lakers win the close out game at home.
