NORMAN — It's a rare occasion when someone sees Justin Klusak, Cameron Green and Anthony Trevino not together.
The former McAlester stars have done just about everything together and know just about everything about each other.
That kind of special friendship is forged when you've been playing on the same teams since you were 7 years old.
This week, the trio is still together, but they're the only high school teammates on the Oklahoma squad during the 32nd Annual Sunbelt Classic.
"It's really pretty cool knowing that,” Klusak said. "It means even more to us because we have been together so long. It wasn't like one of us moved to McAlester or like we weren't good friends initially. We've always been tight.”
Green said it's a dream come true. He said they remember back in junior high when they used to watch and read about the Sunbelt and hoped one day they would get their chance.
Klusak had an RBI sacrifice fly in Oklahoma's 7-6 win over Ohio on Friday at Norman High. Oklahoma blew a 6-0 lead, but Collinsville's Kevin Phillips hit the game-winning homer in the fifth inning.
It's not a swan song for the McAlester boys as all of them have signed with Eastern Oklahoma to continue playing baseball.
It was a tough choice for Klusak. The 6-1, 195-pounder was the star quarterback for the Buffaloes, leading McAlester to the second round of the 5A playoffs.
