BTW, Obama is not black, he is mulatto (look it up). I am not against having a black president. I am against having a president with a very questionable background (father-Muslim), radical upbringing (Rev. Wright)and shady associations (Ayers & ACORN). He is the most liberal senator and if his plan for "re-distribution" of wealth gets legs, we will be in a socialistic society. Contrast that with McCain, a man who has been a soldier and spent his life in service to his country, is highly respected, and has no "gray" area in his background. We were not electing a CEO, we were electing a figurehead to the highest position of HONOR in America. I think we failed to get it right this time.

How, at this late point in the game, can so many people still be spouting such nonsense. If Obama were not an American citizen, Fox News would have been running stories about that two years ago. They didn't, because it's not true.
Ditto, if he were a Muslim, or a Kenyan citizen, or an arab, or a terrorist, or any of the other ridiculous rumors about him.
Get over it! If you want to gripe, find something that makes sense to gripe about. In the meantime, recognize that he has been elected President of the United States at one of the most crisis-filled times in our history. You better hope that he does well, because if he doesn't, we don't!

A Heather CAUSE I AM FROM OKLAHOMA AND KEEP UP WITH MY PEOPLE! I didn't say all Oklahomans were racist but hey I guess all that racism I endured growing up there still bothers me when I see ignorant post. I don't believe all people there are racist, but democrats in your house of reps vote republican! Heather if I offened you I am sorry, I am not tyring to get on the ones who TRULY voted for McCain because of his beliefs or not for Obama's because they don't believe his agenda. Just reading the post in the last month I see alot of racial tones to their statements are could they just be that ignorant? How can a President elect place of birth not be justified before he even gets in the senate? That's disturbing to me that someone could believe that his place of birth wouldn't be verified before all of this. AMAZING.

Byron, Stop making blanket statements about all Oklahomans. I am a Democrat who happens to be white and I proudly voted for President Elect Obama. It is true that the majority of Oklahoman's supported McCain. I hope and pray that their choice was based on more than race. I'm glad you got out of Oklahoma and are happy where you live...but I wonder why are you still all up in Oklahoma's news website posting comments?!
Heather, Oklahoma city - Nov 19, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Oklahoma where even the Democrats vote Republican always!

Born in Maryland raised in Oklahoma for 20 years, and every time I read the E.K. Gaylord news or the blogs I remember why I left. Let me explain 1. Oklahoma and places in the middle of the country are very conservative, however the population in these area are not dense so even though it looks good on the map that they were red-the lack of electorial votes are your problem. 2. Minorities and more less conservative people live outside the areas mentioned in area 1. The East and West Coast, if you were to leave the area and visit say New York, California, hell visit where I live in Maryland, the number of minorities goes way up there, are more minorities here in Md than the entire population of Oklahoma! 3. Contrary to many beliefs we work hard on the coast, and if you were here in D.C. come Nov 4th you would've seen all colors of people, black, white, whatever celebrating in the streets. Never before has that happened on the national lawn it was 4 a.m. and there were still about 10 thousand people including myself partying before work. See even white people voted for Obama in other states not just minorities!
I don't think all of the conservatives in the nation are racist but there are most that could be and probably are, especially in the south. Some people especially aren't ready for a black president. Get ready here it comes. And he will do well contrary to what some of the close minded think.

Deann, your comment is as loopy as the folks on the other side claiming Obama is not eligible for President because he was born in Hawaii. It is a long-standing principle of American law that children born on United States military reservations abroad are considered "natural-born" American citizens. You really should read up on the things you wish to post about before you hit that "Submit" button.
Jason, Edmond - Nov 19, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Harry and Bill and all of the mad racist on here. People in other states aren't as racist as Oklahoma. Barack actually did win the election, it's not a bad dream it's reality. Do you think he would've even got to the primaries if wasn't a natural born citizen? Are Okie's that desperate not to have a black president? I personally think John McCain is a class act, his service to this country is well documented. It dosen't mean he deserves the Presidency more than Barrack however, hell I have been in the Navy for years and I don't look at civilians as "less American" I do see that some people refuse to say what they truly feel, throw all ACORN votes out??!! Do you know how hard it is to illegally vote? What? Have you never left Tulsa to see that the world that you live in is different in other places. If you lived on any of the coast or paid attention to more than Bill O'Riley or Rush Limbaugh you would now that O'Bama was ahead months before the election. Sorry Oklahoma only had 7 electorial votes. Probably for good reason.
Byron, Suitland - Nov 19, 2008 at 5:30 pm
You conspiracy theorists are crrraaaaazzzyyyy, there is no other word I can honestly think of to describe your thinking. When you rely on Fox news, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the likes for your information, it is no wonder that your ability to think freely has gone by the wayside. Quit being a sheep and drinking the Rush Limbaugh Kool-Aid and start thinking for yourself! Obama won in an electoral land slide, the republicans lost seats in the house and senate and the majority of the country was and is sick & tired of republican policies and politicians. You lost - get over it.

Thanks, Scott, I don't have time right now to read every word on the link you provided, but answer me this: I've heard that in an effort to bolster their population numbers, Hawaii issued "certificates of live birth" to people with Hawaiian addresses even though the birth took place in Panama, or on other foreign soil. Admittedly, my details are sketchy, but, have you seen anything on this?

My understanding is that one lawsuit was dismissed but another has been recently filed. The whole thing smells of a rat. If you're legal, prove it and silence the critics. If you're hiding something, continue to dodge the issue and maybe the liberal press will ignore it long enough for it to become moot. Let's stay on this until it is resolved, people!
Harry, Peaness - Nov 19, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Should have researched this before posting! Apparently NObama paid off a judge to have the case dismissed.

What is the status of that lawsuit regarding NObamas' citizenship? Why isn't it being covered by ALL of the news media?
L.J., Mannford - Nov 19, 2008 at 4:27 pm
We're all Americans. Some pay it with blood, some pay it with sweat, and others serve by being public servants. We have presidents who didn't fight in wars but managed businesses (George W. Bush). We have presidents who fought in wars (Theodore Roosevelt). We have presidents who were lawyers (Abraham Lincoln). We have presidents who are farmers (Jimmy Carter). We have a whole slew of backgrounds and professions. In my eyes, they're all American and none is more American than the other.
I tremendously dislike the notion that there are Americans who are more "American" than others. I also dislike the notion that there's a REAL America and FAKE America. Get over it.
Scott, Norman - Nov 19, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Are you kidding me, Deann. Who is more American? How about the man who served his country and was willing to die for it?
Michelle, Tinker AFB - Nov 19, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Harry, just Internet garbage you're spouting. BTW, since President-elect Obama was born in an actual state of the United States and Sen. John McCain was born in a military hospital outside the United States -- who is "more American?"
Deann, Crescent - Nov 19, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Voter registration fraud and voting fraud is very, very different. Look it up and you will find that voting fraud is quite rare.
For example if an ACORN member registers a "Mickey Mouse" as a voting citizen, that will constitute registration fraud. If "Mickey Mouse" shows up to vote, then it is fraud. See the problem?
Scott, Norman - Nov 19, 2008 at 4:00 pm
If we throw out all the illegal ACORN votes, McCain wins by a landslide
Bill, tulsa - Nov 19, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Harry, even given your highly implausible legal scenario, all that would happen then is that Vice-president Biden would be sworn in as President. Check the 25th amendment.
Jason, Edmond - Nov 19, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Way to go Missouri and McCain!
Ed Lova, Oklahoma City - Nov 19, 2008 at 3:30 pm
When the lawsuit is settled and they've finally determined that Obama was not born a US citizen, the election will be overturned and McCain / Palin will be installed in office. This despite the best efforts of ACORN to register and transport every indigent/welfare recipient to vote, with a free cup of coffee to boot!
