McClain County commissioners lifted the burn ban at noon today. The county had been under a ban since Oct. 30 because of dry and windy conditions in the state. The McClain County Department of Emergency Management and local fire departments asked for the ban because of the danger of wild fires.

Recent rains have alleviated the fire danger, commissioners said. County residents still are being asked to notify their local fire district when they burn brush or have a controlled burn.
