COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Kevin McGuff's first Ohio State team will play its first two Big Ten games at home after also taking on defending national-champion Connecticut at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

McGuff, who takes over for the fired Jim Foster, will guide his first Buckeyes team into difficult road games at West Virginia, Georgia, Maryland (in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge) and his former team, Cincinnati, during the non-conference action. The Buckeyes take on the UConn Huskies on Dec. 1 in Springfield, Mass.

Ohio State opens conference play Jan. 2 at home against Purdue and plays three days later against Michigan at Value City Arena. The Buckeyes close with Big Ten games at Iowa and Minnesota.
