LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Athletic director Tommy McClelland has introduced 33-year-old Justin Hill as McNeese State's 13th baseball coach.

Hill replaces Terry Burrows, who resigned after the team finished 23-31, 10-17 in the Southland Conference.

Hill has spent 10 years as an assistant at five schools, the last two years at Louisiana-Monroe. Before that he spent four years at Southeastern Louisiana, one each at Sam Houston State and LSU, and two at Northwestern State.

He pitched at LSU for Skip Bertman after playing at Mississippi Delta and Bossier Parish community colleges. He graduated from LSU in 2002 and received a master's degree in 2005 from Northwestern State.

Hill started coaching in 2003 as an assistant at his alma mater, West Monroe High School. The head coach there was Jeff Schexnaider, now coach at Louisiana-Monroe.
