McVeigh lawyer Stephen Jones loses tax-break bid

A federal appeals court in Denver has ruled the Oklahoma City bomber’s lead trial attorney cannot claim a tax deduction for his charitable donation to the University of Texas of government files on the 1995 attack.

The decision by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals , however, will only affect approximately $15,000 in deductions attorney Stephen Jones of Enid claimed over the files in 2000 and 2001....
