ATLANTA (AP) — Leaders of Atlanta's public transportation agency say a fire on a train has led to delays in north and southbound service.

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Agency spokesman Lyle Harris says a mechanical problem led to a fire Tuesday on a northbound train at the Five Points station in downtown Atlanta.

Harris says passengers were safely evacuated from the train and no injuries were reported.

Details on the mechanical problem weren't immediately available. Harris says north and southbound trains are sharing a single rail line and that passengers should expect delays.
