Media: Nessler gets OSU-Texas gig

"I still think it’s kind of weird that their quarterback is their leading rusher,” Nessler said. "If Colt doesn’t get killed, I guess that’s OK.”

Nessler, Griese and Maguire, who have been teamed up for three years, enjoy having a good time in and out of the broadcast booth. Dales, the former OU basketball star, is the newcomer as the sideline reporter.

"If it sounds like three guys sitting in a bar arguing about a football game,” Nessler said, "we argue about everything from the time we get together on the plane (Thursday) until the time we leave Sunday morning.”

ABC producers have positioned Maguire all over the stadium — on a sideline golf cart, in a suite or up in the rafters — but Nessler said he expects Maguire will be in the booth Saturday.

This top 10 showdown doesn’t need a gimmick.
