Media notebook: Adrian Peterson profiled on Fox Sports Oklahoma special

The weekly "VIZIO Pro Football Profiles” features Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in the next edition, which will air at 3:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Sunday on Fox Sports Oklahoma. Laura Okmin interviews Peterson, a former OU star, and his father, Nelson. Among the topics were Adrian losing his 9-year-old brother to a drunk driving accident, the death of his older brother in a car-jacking and his father’s eight-year prison sentence.

STEELY TO HOST SHOW
Sports Animal morning personality Mike Steely is the new host of the weekly "Air Thunder” show, which returns at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on KSBI-15, Thunder TV; and WWLS-FM 98.1 and AM 640. As a regular feature, Steely will host a discussion with Thunder broadcasters Brian Davis, Grant Long, Matt Pinto and writer Chris Silva.

→OSU fans who subscribe to DirecTV won’t be able to watch Versus’ telecast of the OSU-Baylor game at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. DirecTV dropped the network on Sept. 1 in a dispute over subscription charges. Versus, owned by DirecTV’s chief rival, Comcast, also was upset with DirecTV’s plans to drop the network to a limited sports tier. Ron Thulin, Kelly Stouffer and Lewis Johnson (reporter) will call the game.

→Ron Franklin and Ed Cunningham will broadcast the OU-Kansas game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on KOCO-5.

→Longtime wrestling announcer Jim Ross says he will be off WWE broadcasts for a while because of a third attack of Bell’s palsy, which causes facial paralysis.

→ESPN’s "College GameDay,” 9-11 a.m. Saturday, will be in Provo, Utah, to preview the No. 8 TCU at No. 16 BYU game.

→Fox has added White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen as pre-game and post-game host for its World Series coverage.
