Media notes: Big 12 hoops marathon on Saturday, Cox offers extra Olympic content

The Big 12 men’s basketball season gets started in high gear Saturday with four games on KOCB-34, wrapping up with an OU and OSU doubleheader.

Big 12 Network coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. with Colorado at Texas (announcers Mitch Holtus and Jon Sundvold), followed by Nebraska at Texas A&M (Dave Armstrong and Reid Gettys) at 3 p.m. and Oklahoma at Baylor (Bob Carpenter and Rich Zvosec) at 5 p.m. The marathon wraps up at 7 with Oklahoma State at Texas Tech (Chad McKee and Daniel Bobik) from the Cowboys Sports Network.

Big 12 teams also will be featured in two national telecasts this weekend: Kansas State at Missouri (Ron Franklin and Fran Fraschilla) at 1 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2 and Kansas at Tennessee (Verne Lundquist and Clark Kellogg) at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

At 8 p.m. Monday, OU hosts OSU in the first Bedlam game on ESPN’s "Big Monday” (Brent Musburger, Bob Knight and Holly Rowe).

Special Olympic content offered
More than 1,000 hours of high definition Olympic content will be available at no additional charge to Cox TV Essential (expanded basic) subscribers in Tulsa and Oklahoma City through NBC Olympics Online Connect, Cox Communications announced Thursday.
