NBA TV to go behind the scenes of USA Basketball team

NBA TV will air “NBA Real Training Camp: USA Basketball” — a live behind-the-scenes look at a USA Basketball national team’s practice — at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Las Vegas. Players scheduled to take part include NBA stars Kevin Durant, Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Derrick Rose.

Matt Winer will host the 21/2-hour special with NBA TV analysts and former Team USA members Grant Hill and Steve Smith, along with reporter Jared Greenberg. The show will feature mic’d up players and coaches, as well as interviews with players, coaches, including Mike Krzyzewski, and executives.

The national team will report Sunday for training camp in advance of the FIBA World Cup, Aug. 30-Sept. 14 in Spain.

WWLS-FM 98.1, the Sports Animal, had a strong spring Arbitron ratings book (March 27-June 18), ranking No. 2 in the Oklahoma City market in men ages 25 to 54, its primary demographic, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. WWLS posted a 27 percent increase in the category from the winter book and ranked No. 1 in afternoon drive and No. 2 in morning drive.

In that demo, The Franchise 107.7 ranked No. 6 and slipped 13 percent from the winter book. The station was down 46 percent in morning drive and 21 percent in afternoon drive.

Fox plans to air a one-hour prime-time college football pregame show on Saturdays leading into its main game. Rob Stone will host alongside analysts Joel Klatt and former college and NFL coach Dave Wannstedt, a new addition. College football insiders Bruce Feldman, Stewart Mandel and Clay Travis also will contribute to the studio coverage.

Gus Johnson and Charles Davis return as the No. 1 broadcast team, joined by new sideline reporter Molly McGrath, who continues as co-host of Fox Sports 1’s “America’s Pregame” show. Another broadcast team includes former ESPN play-by-play announcer Joe Davis, analyst Joey Harrington and sideline reporter Kris Budden of Fox Sports San Diego. Former CBS announcer Tim Brando calls Thursday night games on Fox Sports 1 with Klatt serving as analyst, and is also in the booth on Saturdays. Craig Bolerjack returns for his fourth season and teams with analyst Ryan Nece. Analysts Petros Papadakis and Coy Wire as well as rules expert Mike Pereira will be contributors.
