The University of Oklahoma has been awarded the 2014 SVG/NACDA Technology Leadership Award from the Sports Video Group and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. The award will be presented at the SVG College Sports Summit on May 28 in Atlanta.
The award is presented to the university athletic department that shows significant commitment to broadcast and video infrastructure and technologies.
SoonerVision, the in-house video production arm of OU athletics, produces all of the content on Sooner Sports TV, OU’s multiplatform network. Sooner Sports TV programming is delivered on a variety of Fox outlets, including Fox Sports Oklahoma, in addition to SoonerSports.tv.
Sooner Sports TV includes hundreds of live games and showcases a variety of original programming and studio shows. In addition, live webcasts and on-demand video are distributed online at SoonerSports.tv.
•Greg Norman, a two-time British Open champion, and Joe Buck will call the U.S. Open when it moves to Fox next year, the network announced. The network signed a 12-year rights deal with the U.S. Golf Association to air the Open and its other championships. Buck is already Fox’s top play-by-play voice for its NFL and baseball coverage. An avid golfer, he currently plays at a 3 handicap. NBC’s last U.S. Open will be at Pinehurst No. 2 in June.
•NBC Sports Group will air live coverage of all Team USA hockey games next month from the IIHF World Championship in Minsk, Belarus, part of more than 40 hours of coverage on NBCSN.
