The state medical examiner’s office has identified the person who died in a vehicle fire early Wednesday in south Oklahoma City.

Ethan Geyser, 19, was found dead by firefighters in the back seat of a burning sport utility vehicle, said Amy Elliott, spokeswoman for the state medical examiner’s office. Geyser’s toxicology report is pending, Elliot said.

About 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, fire crews responded to the 12200 block of High Meadow Court and found the SUV engulfed in flames in front of a duplex. Homicide detectives and police responded to the scene, but were called off when foul play was ruled out, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing, fire Maj. Tammy McKinney said.
