Diabetes, lung cancer to be topics of Oklahoma City discussions
Dr. Caroline Merritt will share information at noon on Nov. 26 about how to prevent diabetes and also the risk factors and the latest advances for those living with the disease.
The free event will be at Integris Health Edmond Memorial conference room at 4801 Integris Parkway.

Federal agency offers health care advice online
A federal health quality agency recently launched a website that offers podcasts, videos and advice columns on the latest health care news and research findings. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality recently launched Healthcare 411, a multimedia health care news website that provides content on a wide range of health information.
The content found on Healthcare 411 gives consumers information they can use to improve the quality of their health and help them to better understand the health care system. The website is http://healthcare411.ahrq.gov.
Deadline to enroll in Medicare drug plans is approaching
The deadline to enroll or update benefits in Medicare is Dec. 7. Adults who have questions about enrollment or benefits can call Oklahoma's Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program for free counseling.
This organization provides accurate and objective counseling, assistance and advocacy relating to Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage, long-term care and other related health coverage plans for Medicare beneficiaries, their representatives, or people soon to be eligible for Medicare.
