The school’s vocal department will host the first Madrigal Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the school’s cafeteria, 6181 NW 206.
Tickets for the event must be reserved by 5 p.m. Thursday. The cost is $15 for adults and $12 for ages 12 and younger.
Billie Thomas, the school’s vocal director, said the recital will be non-traditional because the event will be a dinner theater. The school’s cafeteria will be decorated to resemble a medieval castle, complete with a king, jesters and other courtiers.
Guests will be treated to a three-course meal and, true to medieval standards, there will be no silverware. Between courses, the students will perform songs.
The dinner theater concept is a first for Deer Creek High School, Thomas said.
Proceeds will be used to pay for the production. Thomas said she hopes it will become an annual event.
