GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids is getting ready to open its 18th annual "Butterflies Are Blooming" exhibit.

The event at the West Michigan attraction opens to the public March 1 and media recently got a sneak peak at butterflies in their chrysalis form.

Meijer Gardens is getting deliveries of hundreds of chrysalides a week. They first will be placed in the Butterfly Bungalow. After emerging as butterflies they're released into the five-story Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory to fly for the popular display.

"Butterflies Are Blooming" typically draws nearly 150,000 visitors. The exhibit runs through April 30.
