Members of '71 wishbone had special bond with quarterback

NORMAN — Almost an hour after Jack Mildren 's funeral ended Tuesday and everyone else had departed, members of Oklahoma's 1971 wishbone backfield lingered on the church lawn.

Telling stories.

Mostly about Jack.

"You could always tell if he liked you or disliked you,” said ex-OU fullback Leon Crosswhite . "But I think Jack loved all of us.”
