Surprise, surprise...
The NCAA division formerly known as I-AA has produced some memorable upsets.
Here are five of note, four of which came in season openers:
•1. 2007; Appalachian State 34, Michigan 32: Shocker at the Big House.
•2. 1992; Citadel 10, Arkansas 3: Frank Broyles fired Jack Crowe the next day.
•3. 2005; Cal-Davis 20, Stanford 17: Loss probably cost Stanford a bowl bid.
•4. 1988; North Texas 29, Texas Tech 24: Red Raiders finished 5-6.
•5. 2006; Montana State 19, Colorado 10: Dan Hawkins Era begins with a thud.
