Memorial Day weekend activities planned in Oklahoma City area

Tributes to service members, art festival, Big 12 Baseball Championship are among Oklahoma City area activities for Memorial Day weekend.

The 45th Infantry Division Museum will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony honoring U.S. service members at 10 a.m. Monday at the museum, 2145 NE 36.

The ceremony will include a helicopter flyover, massing of the colors and guest speaker Brig. Gen. Robbie Asher, director of joint staff for the Oklahoma National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters.

Overflow parking will be available at the Department of Public Safety parking lot south of the museum grounds.

A variety of activities also are scheduled during the three-day weekend. Events in the Oklahoma City metro area include:

Paseo Arts Festival: The festival will feature more than 80 artists, live music, festival foods and children's activities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with music until 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with music until 7 p.m. Monday in the Paseo Arts District. Admission is free. Chuck Wagon Gathering and Children's Cowboy Festival: The annual event has been moved indoors. The usual outdoor activities won't be offered. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63. Information: www.nationalcowboymuseum.org
