Memorial service for Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board member will be Saturday

A memorial service for Currie Ballard, who served two terms on the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, will be held Saturday in Langston.

A memorial service for Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board member Currie Ballard will be held Saturday at Langston University.

The service will take place at 11 a.m. in the I.W. Young Auditorium and is open to the public.

Ballard was found Friday in his Langston home. No official cause of death has been released.

Aside from the eight years Ballard spent on the parole board, he also served as assistant secretary of the Oklahoma Senate and as a historian at Langston. has disabled the comments for this article.
