Sydney Angle will be honored this weekend with all of her favorite things; softball, pickles and dancing.

The 9-year-old, who died when a tornado struck Plaza Towers Elementary School, will be remembered in a softball tournament in Moore.

The 54-team tournament started Friday night and continues at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Moore Girls Softball Association at Buck Thomas Park, 1903 NE 12 Street, Moore.

Landon McNeill, Sydney's softball coach, helped organize the event and said the weekend will be filled with small tributes to Sydney.

“The softball community in Moore is really close and we only know one kind of way to help and that's to play softball,” McNeill said. “Some people have a moment of silence but we are going to rock out the park. She was real rambunctious and loved music. We will also have free pickles for everyone because that was her favorite snack.”

McNeill said there will also be a “Gangnam Style” dance off in honor of Sydney's favorite dance.

“She just loved that song,” he said. “Everyone will dance, coaches, players and umpires included, for 35 seconds because Sydney wore No. 35.”
