Metairie doctor named to fluoridation board

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Dr. Floyd Buras Jr. of Metairie has been appointed to the Fluoridation Advisory Board.

The 14-member board helps water systems with at least 5,000 customers obtain funding for fluoridation of its system.

Buras is a pediatrician. He was nominated by the Louisiana State Medical Society.

The appointment was made by Gov. Bobby Jindal.
