MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Miami visits No. 21 Kansas State on Saturday with redemption in mind.
The Hurricanes were trailing 28-24 last season when they marched to the goal line in the final minute. Facing fourth-and-goal, then-Miami quarterback Jacory Harris sprinted for the pylon, and for a moment appeared as if he'd sneak the ball across the goal line.
A video review showed that Harris was stopped short, and Kansas State ended up with the win.
Miami coach Al Golden said the loss "stuck with us all year," and it seemed to have a lasting impact. Two teams that appeared equal that September Saturday went different ways: Miami finished 6-6; the Wildcats won 10 games and reached the Cotton Bowl.
