Today marks the 25th anniversary of the release of 1989′s “Batman” film starring Michael Keaton. This film was a huge cultural touchstone at the time, and Forbes writes about how it changed moviemaking and ushered in the modern superhero blockbuster.
While I think pieces of the film have aged poorly, it’s still interesting to watch. And as far as nostalgia, it’s hard to beat the excitement my brother and I had waiting for this film in the summer of 1989. This began a trend for me of seeing “Batman” films on the opening weekend that continues to this day.
