MEDINAH, Ill. (AP) — Phil Mickelson has set the record for Ryder Cup appearances by a U.S. player.

Mickelson is playing in his ninth Ryder Cup, pairing with Keegan Bradley in the morning foursomes Friday. That breaks the appearance record Mickelson shared with Lanny Wadkins, Ray Floyd and Billy Casper.
