Drop box offered for drug disposal

The police department is partnering with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control on its Drop Box for Safe Prescription Drug Disposal Program.

The narcotics bureau is providing drop-off locations for safe disposal of prescription drugs in all 77 counties in Oklahoma.

“Because prescription drug abuse is so prevalent in our society, we wanted to be a part of this important program to help eradicate it in our community,” said Sid Porter, Midwest City assistant police chief. “The drop boxes are an easy and safe solution to disposing of unused prescription drugs while keeping them out of the hands of children, teenagers and others who might end up abusing them.”

The Midwest City drop box is at 100 N Midwest Blvd. It is available every day, 24 hours a day.
