Mike Baldwin: Four-game win streak helped Jeff Capel's case to remain in Norman

“I've said all along that I think Castiglione will give Capel at least one more season. After the Sooners won four in a row, with a young team with four starters returning, I think it's close to a slam dunk that Capel will return next season. He also has a couple of newcomers locked up for next season and hopes to sign another player or two next spring. Bottom line is OU's men's team has exceeded expectations which should give Capel another year.”

— On if OU has a chance to keep it close with Texas:

“No one has kept it close with Texas. The Longhorns not only are undefeated in Big 12 play they've won every conference game by 11 or more points, the 11-point win being in Lawrence, snapping Kansas' lengthy home-court winning streak. It's been difficult for everyone to keep games close with Texas but I think OU might have a chance to keep it somewhat close.”
