So much for Mike and Mike and Mike in the Morning. Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy’s scheduled appearance today on the ESPN Radio show, Mike and Mike in the Morning, was canceled along with a couple other stops on Gundy’s tour of the ESPN media outlets. ESPN did not give a reason for the cancellations.
But it has been an otherwise successful visit to the ESPN campus for Gundy, who managed to break a little news while making appearances on all of the network’s platforms. In an appearance on ESPNEWS, Gundy said he plans to call plays for the Oklahoma State offense again in 2009, a decision that had not been made earlier this month. "I’m gonna do it again,” Gundy said. "I had a lot of fun with it.” Gundy’s visit to the network’s home base concludes today with a live appearance on the ESPN2 (Cox 28) show First Take at 9:40 a.m. Gundy taped segments for College Football Live, which will air during today’s episode at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN (Cox 29), and he appeared on several ESPN Radio programs, including an interview with OSU alum Doug Gottlieb. Gundy also appeared live on The Scott Van Pelt Show on ESPN Radio and ESPN2, where he covered a variety of topics with fill-in host Ryen Russillo, including his view of the benefits and future of the spread offense. "It allows offenses to have an equalizer,” Gundy said.
