Oklahoma State football: Mike Gundy to stop injury updates

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said during his Sunday evening media teleconference that he will no longer discuss player injuries.

OSU had been releasing an NFL-style report the Friday before each game with the status of injured players. But before its contest with Texas, the school opted not to put out a report, which would have included starting quarterback Wes Lunt.
“We're not giving any injury reports on anybody,” Gundy said. “We're going the other way. We're not even going to talk about anybody on our team in any area concerning injuries.
“I tried to kind of work with it, but it didn't do us any good.”
Lunt, who sustained a left knee injury early in the Cowboys' contest against Louisiana-Lafayette, did not play Saturday night. Redshirt freshman J.W. Walsh instead got the start and threw for 301 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding 57 rushing yards.
Gundy did mention during the teleconference that safety Lavocheya Cooper did not play because of injury Saturday night. Jeremy Smith also left the game with an apparent injury in the first half.
Starting center Evan Epstein and starting linebacker Alex Elkins, who did not play against ULL, both returned to the field against the Longhorns.
