Last year, he led the state in interceptions, and now his work is beginning to produce scholarship offers.

Millwood cornerback/receiver Alfonzo McMillian received his first Division I offer from North Texas on Friday, according to the Millwood coaching staff. North Texas joins Central Oklahoma in pursuit of the 6-foot, 185-pound senior.

McMillian had 10 interceptions and returned two for touchdowns as a junior in a dangerous Millwood secondary. At the other corner was Cameron Batson, who picked off nine passes, and has verbally committed to Texas Tech as a receiver heading into his senior year. McMillian also had 23 receptions for 608 yards and 10 touchdowns, with an average of 26.3 yards per catch.

Of the programs that have contacted Millwood coaches about McMillian, some have been interested in him at cornerback, while others, like North Texas, see him as a receiver prospect.

With a good mix of size, strength and speed, this is likely just the beginning for McMillian in the recruiting game.
