Millwood star Cameron Batson came out ahead in a back-and-forth battle with Norman North's John Kolar to win The Oklahoman's Fans' Choice City-Area Football Player of the Week poll on NewsOK.com.

Batson edged Kolar, who helped lead Norman North to a victory after star quarterback David Cornwell left with an injury, by less than 100 votes.

Batson accounted for five touchdowns in the Falcons' 53-0 shutout of Christian Heritage last week.

Here are the results of the fan poll:

Cameron Batson, Millwood: 928 votes (36.11 pct.)

John Kolar, Norman North: 858 votes (33.39 pct.)

William Arndt, Hennessey: 310 votes (12.06 pct.)

Kaedyn Fuller, PC North: 224 votes (8.72 pct.)

Kourtney Williams, Edmond Memorial: 160 votes (6.23 pct.)

Sanardo Ballard, Crooked Oak: 90 votes (3 pct.)

Total: 2,570 votes
