The league provides children and adults with special needs the opportunity to play baseball in a safe and supportive environment.

The league had many volunteers helping with the games, league organizer Margo Price said.

Price offered thanks to coach Wendell Simmons and his University of Central Oklahoma baseball team, which came out several times during the season; coach Sunny Galloway and his University of Oklahoma baseball team; coach Kirk Kelley and his baseball team from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville; coach Rick Nordyke and his Edmond North High School softball team; Kohl’s For Kids project employees including some workers from the Danforth Kohl’s store (the corporate office donates $500 every time employees help in the community); Pam Gonzague and some of the employees at the Alliance Credit Union; youth groups from St. John’s Catholic Church; Gary Piercey and some of his students from Francis Tuttle Technology Center; Nick Marten and some of his friends from Bridgeway Church; a group from LifeChurch.tv.; students from the OU physical therapy school; Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity from Langston University; and several students in organizations at UCO.

The Miracle League of Edmond will start its next season in April. People interested in helping should call Price at 850-7603 or e-mail mprice52@cox.net. For more information, go to www.themiracleleagueofedmond.org.
