A baby girl reported missing in Oklahoma City was found safe Friday afternoon in the care of her mother's friend, police said.
Hananah Jones, 9 months, had been missing since Tuesday when her mother checked into a hospital and said she had given the baby to someone else, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
Police reported Hananah missing Friday, and her mother's friend saw a media report about it and called 911, Knight said. The mother had left Hananah in her friend's care, and the friend did not know police were looking for the child.
The baby's mother, Dadra E. Jones, checked herself into the VA Medical Center on Tuesday and told a friend she had “signed her baby over to someone else,” police reported.
