A 21-year-old Norman woman who had been missing since July 1 was found safe on Monday after police issued a plea for public assistance in finding her.

“Norman police and the family of Hailey Renea (McDaniel) Jennings would like to thank the community for their response and effort towards the missing persons investigation,” Capt. Todd Gibson said.

Jennings had left her home at the Renaissance Apartments, 1600 Ann Brandon Blvd., about 3:30 a.m. July 1, police said. Based on witness interviews and phone records, she made a final cellphone communication at 3:51 a.m. in the vicinity of State Highway 9 and the National Center for Employee Development, 2801 SH 9. No one had heard from her since.

The family and police issued a public appeal for anyone knowing her whereabouts to contact them.

Gibson said she was found unharmed a few hours after the appeal was made. has disabled the comments for this article.
