JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi State guard Gabe Jackson is the first recipient of the Kent Hull Trophy, which is given to Mississippi's most outstanding collegiate offensive lineman.
The 6-foot-4, 340-pound Jackson is a fifth-year senior from Liberty, Miss., who hasn't allowed a sack all season. He's expected to be a coveted NFL prospect in April.
The Hull Trophy winner was selected by a panel that includes former professional scouts, former college players and former coaches. It is named after Kent Hull, who was a star center at Mississippi State before a standout career in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills.
Jackson will receive his trophy on Tuesday night at the Conerly Trophy ceremony at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Jackson is also a finalist for the Conerly.
