MLB icon Tony Gwynn dies at 54

Tony Gwynn, an MLB hall of famer and one of the greatest hitters of all time, died Monday at 54.
Gwynn, who hit a lifetime .338 in 20 seasons with the San Diego Padres, had battled cancer since 2010.


Gwynn was the baseball coach at his alma mater, San Diego State, since 2003. He took a leave of absence in April due to his declining health.
His son, Tony Gwynn Jr., plays outfield for the Philadelphia Phillies.
