HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Peguy Luyindula had three assists and the New York Red Bulls beat the Chicago Fire 5-2 on Sunday to finish with Major League Soccer's best record.
Ibrahim Sekagya scored early in the second half to help the Red Bulls (17-9-8) get to 59 points for the regular season, lifting them over Sporting KC, which had 58 points. Real Salt Lake led the Western Division with 56 points.
It's the first Supporters' Shield for the Red Bulls, who will carry an eight-game unbeaten streak into the playoffs. They also secured a spot in next season's CONCACAF Champions League.
Sekagya's second goal of the season made it 2-1 in the 49th minute, and Lloyd Sam scored seven minutes later for a 3-1 Red Bulls lead. Reserve Eric Alexander converted a breakaway chance in the 77th minute on a through pass from Luyindula.
Chicago (14-13-7) took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute on Mike Magee's 21st goal of the season. Quincy Amarikwa scored in the 90th minute for the Fire.

SEATTLE (AP) — Clint Dempsey scored in the 30th minute for Seattle in his ninth game back in Major League Soccer, and Robbie Keane's half-volley late in the second half gave Los Angeles a 1-1 draw in the MLS regular-season finale.
Dempsey's goal off a cross from Lamar Neagle gave Seattle (15-12-7) a chance at finishing third in the Western Conference, but Keane's goal in the 78th minute in front of another massive crowd of 66,218 changed the entire playoff picture.
Keane's goal gave the Galaxy (15-11-8) third place in the final standings. Los Angeles will face Real Salt Lake in the two-leg conference semifinals. Seattle will now host Colorado in the play-in round on Wednesday, with the winner getting Portland in the conference semifinals.
WHITECAPS 3, RAPIDS 0
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Camilo Sanvezzo scored three times to give him an MLS-best 22 goals, and Vancouver closed out its season with a victory.
It was a bittersweet finale for Sanvezzo and the Whitecaps (13-12-9), who were eliminated from postseason contention when they lost 3-2 at Colorado (14-11-9) on Oct. 19. Last season, the Whitecaps became the first Canadian team to make the MLS playoffs.
Colorado will visit Seattle in the play-in round on Wednesday, with the winner getting Portland in the conference semifinals.
