BROKEN ARROW — A company that was founded in Broken Arrow in 1986 is returning to the city after 21 years in Tulsa.
Molded Products Inc., which manufactures custom rubber-molded products for a variety of industrial markets, broke ground Monday on a 30,000-square-foot facility at 219 E Avenue and Oklahoma 51 in Wagoner County.
Allen Clonts, Molded Products' business manager, said the new 5-acre site in Broken Arrow will allow the business to expand.
“We currently operate 24 hours a day, five days a week out of two separate facilities,” Clonts said. “We look forward to streamlining our operations by having everyone under one roof. The new space will allow us to hire additional employees, increase our productivity, and continue growing the company.”
The company moved to Tulsa in 1992 because it outgrew its original Broken Arrow facility.
It is currently located at 11524 E 58 in Tulsa, with some of its operations housed in a second building a quarter of a mile away.
Molded Products has 30 permanent employees and 10 temporary employees. It plans to add at least 15 new positions within the next couple of years.
Clonts said the company has grown by about 20 percent a year for the last five years.
