A woman who has spent 20 years in prison on a conviction for the murder of her infant son at her Tulsa apartment was released today after her conviction was vacated, the Tulsa World reports.
District Judge William Kellough vacated Michelle Murphy's conviction and ordered her to appear at a status conference June 24. Her bond was set at $10,000 and a few hours later, she met the media inside the Tulsa Jail after she had been released.
"I'm thankful for everyone who has been there for me," said Murphy, who hugged family members who arrived to see her walk out.
