BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Bucharest club Rapid says it will have to move out of the stadium that has been its home since 1939 because the cash-strapped club can't afford the rent.

Rapid said in a statement late Tuesday it had not reached an agreement with the Transportation Ministry over the Giulesti-Valentin Stanescu ground about rent.

ProSport reported on Wednesday the ministry wanted 5,000 euros ($6,900) per match, while the club has been paying much less.

Rapid has also played home matches in Ploiesti, 60 kilometers (38 miles) north of Bucharest. Rapid apologized to its fans and said it was looking for a new home ground.

In August, Rapid was relegated from Romania's top division by the Court of Arbitration for Sport because it did not have a license after the three-time champion filed for insolvency in November 2012.
