MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Montana linebacker Jordan Tripp of Missoula has accepted an offer to play in the East-West Shrine Game next month, giving him another chance to impress NFL scouts.
The game is played on Jan. 18 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Tripp, a third-generation Griz player, says he's excited to play in the all-star game and is honored to represent the University of Montana.
Tripp had 100 tackles and three interceptions this season, earning first team All-Big Sky Conference honors. He is a finalist for the Buck Buchanan award given to the top defensive player in the FCS and was Montana's nominee for the American Football Coaches Association's annual "Good Works Team." He holds the UM record with 10 career fumble recoveries.
Tripp is just the third Griz player to play in the Shrine game since 1994.
