MOORE — A toy and book giveaway for tornado and storm victims will be Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at New Life United Methodist Church, 1105 NW 27.

Toys and books will be distributed from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Organizers said the church received phenomenal response to its toy and book drive for children impacted by the May tornadoes and storms. They said the items were donated not just from United Methodist churches in the Oklahoma City metro area and the state but also from Methodist churches as far away as Vancouver, Wash., and Shalamar, Fla. Others have donated money, with the largest amount — more than $800 — coming from First United Methodist Church of Montrose, Colo., to purchase new toys.

Each child will be able to pick out a toy, a book and a stuffed animal while supplies last. Families will need to bring identification showing proof of residency in an area that was impacted by the tornado.

For more information, call the church at 794-8393.
