Free hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available at a toy drop-off event Friday for Santa Express, a benefit run by the Moore Fire Department.

Firefighters will accept toys from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Moore Community Center, 301 S Howard Ave.

New, unwrapped gifts for children age 9 and older are especially needed this year, fire department officials said. Monetary donations are also being taken.

The fire department conducts various fundraising activities throughout the year for Santa Express. Before Christmas, firefighters deliver gifts to the homes of disadvantaged families. The list of recipients is based on recommendations by school counselors.
