Moore to try natural gas trucks

MOORE — The city council is applying for $250,000 in state Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds to convert 10 vehicles in its fleet to run on compressed natural gas.

The city plans to convert light-duty V-8 pickups used by inspectors to the alternative fuel, City Manager Steve Eddy said. City officials estimate the conversions will result in annual savings of $17,500 in fuel expenses.
