Moore tornado was ninth deadliest in Oklahoma history

The EF5 tornado that hit Moore on Monday is the state’s ninth deadliest on record, according to National Weather Service records. A preliminary report shows at least eight tornadoes hit Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday.

MOORE — The deadly EF5 tornado that struck the south Oklahoma City area Monday pitched 10-ton propane tank a quarter mile from an elementary school at its strongest point, officials with the National Weather Service in Norman said.
