GUYMON — More arrests will be made in connection with the operation of an illegal horse racing track operation that was shut down earlier this month, a prosecutor said Friday.
Charges were filed against 11 people, including John Clark, who is listed along with Pamela Hill as the registered owner of the property where the race track was found.
Hill has not been charged.
The investigation is still pending. Neither Clark nor Hill lives on the property, about three miles north of Guymon off U.S. Highway 64.
Authorities said three to five races were operating on alternating Sundays, attracting between 150 to 300 people, Texas County District Attorney James M. Boring said.
Horse owners from Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico and Texas were bringing horses to the races; most of the horse owners provided their own jockeys, he said.
Boring said he is still waiting on final reports to learn how much money was seized in the raid and how much money the operation was bringing in.
